Taboo Polled Herefords is owned and operated by Gary & Norma Jean Boose.  It was established in 1997 with the purchase of 5 purebred polled Herefords from Howard McKeown.  We have since expanded our herd to approximately 50 head of purebreds both here in Ontario and in Saskatchewan.

ďTabooĒ is a combination of Norma Jeanís maiden name (TAylor) and Garyís sur name (BOOse).  Gary has been a cattle veterinarian since 1981 and has recently moved into a position with the animal health division of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.  We operate 100 acres that is located approximately 35 minutes north of the Toronto International Airport (Pearson) that was Norma Jeanís parentís purebred Holstein family farm.
We chose to go with the Hereford breed because of their temperament, performance and maternal instinct.  Our goal is to breed the best females that we have with the best AI bulls to produce outstanding breeding stock and to have fun at the same time!  January and February is always an exciting time as that is when the new crop of calves arrive!
We typically sell our cattle at the Autumn Alliance sale in September but do entertain private treaty along the way.  Taboo has experienced some exciting moments in the show ring.  Our top Canadian award was the honour of National Reserve Grand Champion Female of 2005 with Taboo 29F Krystalís Pride 309P at the Canadian Western Agribution and at the 2011 National Western Stock Show GHC-Taboo Coalition 52U was the Sr. Bull Champion.
